Courage and Joy - March 1, 2023

Laureate of international competitions, young, bright and original guitarist Maria Zhirnykh invites you to the first concert from her cycle dedicated to musical "affects". This concert will feature music by composers of three centuries - from the lute suite by Johann Sebastian Bach to "24 Capriccios in dedication to F. Goya" by the 20th century author Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. As conceived by Mary, this music will represent two of the eight main musical affects (special feelings evoked in a person by art) - Courage and Joy. Together with a guest star, Yang Ri-Wong (Mei), a 10th grade student of the Brookes Moscow School, takes part in the concert. She started classical guitar lessons under the MusicPlus program in the class of teacher Asya Selyutina less than a year ago, but she already demonstrates excellent playing and pleases students and teachers of our school with her performance at assemblies and other school events.
