
Admissions
The tuition fee includes full provision from 8:00am until 4pm, such as all regular and specialist lessons, school day trips, meals and snacks, and all teaching materials. It also includes after school activities (Brookes Plus) 2-3 times in a week and school day trips.
For all children who study at Brookes Moscow (i.e. Pre-Nursery to Y13), it is from 08:20 to 16:00. Followed by Brookes Plus activities from 16:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday - Thursday.
At Brookes Moscow, we offer only a full day option, with sleep provision for Pre-Nursery and Nursery children in the afternoons. For an additional fee, we provide optional childcare until 7pm, including an evening meal.
The application fee is applicable for all applicants and covers the administrative costs of reviewing and evaluating each application.
The capital fee is payable once for each prospective family. This sum is used for investment in teaching resources and infrastructure development to support the long-term development of the school.
The first lesson of the day in all year groups begins at 08:40. Students are expected to be at school by 08:20.
At the primary and middle years levels (PYP and MYP), students engage in a range of different subjects, including language arts, math, science, social studies, physical education, and the arts. Lessons are structured around a central unit of inquiry question or theme, with students encouraged to ask questions, explore, and make connections between different subjects.
At the diploma level (DP), students choose six subjects to study in-depth, with three at a higher level (HL) and three at a standard level (SL). In addition, students complete the core components of the DP, including the extended essay, theory of knowledge (TOK), and creativity, activity, and service (CAS).
Yes, there are. At the end of Year 6 (the last year group of PYP) students must prepare and present a group project following a topic they are passionate about. At the end of Year 11 (the last year group of MYP) students are supposed to sit around 8 exams, successfully completing which will award them with an MYP certificate which is the main basis for entering the Diploma Programmes.
Students of Brookes Moscow are allowed to enter the school from 08:00 onwards and then head straight for the playground where they can stay until the classes begin. Breakfast is served at different times depending on the year group and the earliest time is at 09:30
When it comes to filling in the Admissions application, please pay careful attention to the Health and Immunization section, which should fully reflect all the dietary needs of your child/ren. Our kitchen staff will be properly informed about the requirements. However please be advised that should your child/ren require special or specific nutrition we will only be able to satisfy such a request upon providing 2 documents: an officially stamped medical conclusion proving the condition and a 10-day menu specifically prepared by a dietician.
Official homeworks begin from Y3 and should occur 3 times per week. Students have plenty of time to finish their homework at school, but will need to to take it home from time to time depending on the schedule. Secondary students should receive homework every day (an hour per subject).
From 2 yo to 6 yo (PN-Y2 inclusive ) - only Discovery days are acceptable and present a full picture of how well a child is ready for the EY. Beginning from 7 yo and up to 18 yo (Y3 to Y13) - requirements here include a 2 hours computer based assessment (English language, Maths and Logic) and trial days. Once this stage is completed we invite the family for a meeting with School Director.
Children have on-site swimming lessons each week, led by our specialist PE staff. Children of all ability levels are supported appropriately to improve their confidence and independence in the water.
Our classroom teachers are all highly-trained specialists and bring a range of experiences from their work in international schools. Specialist teachers for languages, music, physical education & swimming are a mixture of highly qualified local and international professionals, all with extensive experience in international education.
Children in Pre-Nursery and Nursery sleep in the afternoons from 1 pm until 2:30 pm. In Reception, we expect all children to have moved away from sleeping in the daytime, although we can cater for specific needs during Term 1. Children in Reception to Year 2 classes have a short rest time after lunch.
Brookes Moscow employs top-notch tutors who have been teaching English for many years abroad. Immense amounts of experience allow our tutors to ensure the linguistic development of our students stays at the core of their overall development. Everything at school promotes language learning. Also, we have Key Centre specialists who will assist our students starting from the Reception class to comfortably progress beyond their language limitations and ensure a proper transition to the next academic stage.
