World School Games U13&15

The Gryphons once again took to the world stage in Dubai, this time for the under 13 and under 15 World School Games. Both competitions took place simultaneously and unlike previous competitions, there was no division between Performance and Development groups - Brookes were up against some of the best schools in Dubai.

Across three days of competition our Gryphons battled bravely in the heat and achieved some brilliant results. Our students won 2 medals in Athletics and 10 in the pool which is fantastic progress considering the standard they were competing against. Congratulations to Antonio, Maria and Alexander who were our individual winners in Athletics and Swimming. Also to our U15 boys and girls Freestyle Relay teams who both made the podium.

Whilst Football was the challenge, our Gryphons nevertheless battled very hard and our U13 boys and U15 girls ended up winning their last game on penalties. As a learning experience, we couldn’t have asked for more. Our Gryphons have returned to Moscow even more determined and hungry to develop as athletes and we look forward to seeing this translate into MAC tournaments later this year.
