We held our first winter chess tournament!

Chess

Brookes Winter Chess tournament, organised by the collaborative efforts of the Year 12 students, academics and administrative teams, unfolded as a day brimming with competitiveness and camaraderie. We had around 30 participants from Years 7 to 13, and they were supported by parents and staff

This tournament was the brainchild of three Year 12 students, who, after hours and hours of careful planning, were able to bring this project to life, filling up the Sunday of all participants with the excitement of a friendly competition and, simultaneously, completing their CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) requirements in a meaningful way.

The goal was to improve our chess skills, to prepare for future tournaments with other schools, to build closer relationships within the club and the Brookes community and to enjoy!

A-a-and the winner of the Brookes Winter Chess tournament is Philip K. from Year 9! And the runner-up - Ishaan A. from Year 7! Congratulations, chess club!
