First ever Personal Project exhibition evening at Brookes Moscow

13-1

The Year 11 students of Brookes Moscow recently completed their Personal Projects displays. These were exhibited at our inaugural Personal Project evening. We welcomed Year 10 students, parents and Brookes community members to share in the celebration which was filled with communication, creativity and making connections to our wider world context.

This was a celebration of the Year 11’s hard work and diligence, delving into a topic of personal interest to them and demonstrating aspects of all five approaches to learning skills (ATL’s). The topics all demonstrated transfer of knowledge. From a clothing drive for children in The Gambia, learning the skill and art of DJ-ing, creating an anthology to understanding and employing minimalism, the students were able to express their own identity through their projects and conduct mature discussions around their topics. It was a chance for our younger students to prompt reflection by asking critical questions and learn more about a range of topics. A student report will follow and conclude this aspect of their MYP 5 year.

We are extremely proud of our pioneering Year 11’s who have set a high precedent for future Personal Projects.
