Brookes Moscow International IB World School Upper and Senior School Speech Day, June 2022

28 June 2022 Brookes Moscow International IB World School had one of its most memorable and special days – the summer Speech Day for the children of the Upper and Senior School, marking the end of the academic year.

Speech Day is the day celebrating the achievements of the students, marked with prizes and awards presented to the children, and exquisite entertainment highlighting the gala character of the occasion. This year the day was even more special, since the School had the first ever graduates to praise and hand in the diplomas to! The Day provided a great opportunity for students, parents and relatives, teachers, School staff to meet and communicate, share news, have some enjoyable time together and join the children in honouring their achievements!
On arrival the parents were warmly greeted by the School personnel, treated with refreshing drinks and snacks and taken to the spacious Performance Hall. On entering the Hall they could hear a prominent Moscow pianist, the School Head of MusicPlus Programme Alexei Skanavi playing.
When everyone comfortably settled in the Hall, Director of Schools Charley King, Director of Projects Zarina King, special guest Brookes Parent Marina Johnson, Brookes Moscow Principal John Downey welcomed everyone and introduced and handed in the awards and prizes to the students of Upper and Senior School. Everyone present were excited to be part of the ceremony, the children and the parents proud of the awards, and everyone was happy to listen to exclusive pieces of music played by the children during the ceremony – the amazing guitar performance by Peter, the energetic drums performance by Lev, a piano sonata gorgeously played by Alexey, Arina’s stunningly beautiful singing, masterful guitar performance by Elizaveta.
2022 is a truly unique year for Brookes Moscow – it is the year of the first ever graduates of the School! The students of the last year, wearing stylish School caps and gowns, were specially praised by everyone and solemnly presented with diplomas! It was the day to remember! At the end of the ceremony a much anticipated moment arrived of throwing the caps in the air! After that exciting moment Director of Schools Charley King delivered and inspiring speech to all the students, and then the new Brookes anthem song filled the air. After the ceremony everyone was welcomed to a reception, where all the guests could enjoy tasty food and drinks, make special memorable photographs, talk to each other, congratulate the students, share the excitement of the day and enjoy the end of the academic year together!
